How can counselling help?
Counselling offers a confidential space to talk openly about whatever is troubling you, without judgement or pressure. People come to counselling for many different reasons — sometimes because of a particular difficulty or life event, and sometimes simply because they feel that something needs to change.
Together, we can explore what you are experiencing, understand patterns of thoughts and feelings, and consider ways of moving forward that feel right for you. Counselling isn't about telling you what to do. It's about giving you the time and support to understand yourself better and make your own choices.
The Initial Consultation
I offer a free, no-obligation consultation by phone or video call. This brief conversation allows us to discuss your needs and goals, answer your questions, and explain how I work. It also helps us decide whether my services are the right fit for you and outline the next steps if you choose to move forward.
What to Expect in Your First Session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin exploring what has brought you to counselling. We’ll also talk through some practical details, including confidentiality, boundaries and how we’ll work together, so you know what to expect. There’s no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with — we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you.
Reduced rates are available for students undertaking a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and for members of the Armed Forces. I understand that cost can sometimes be a barrier to counselling, so please feel free to ask about available concessions.
